Route 66 Design
HELPING YOU SEE THE POTENTIAL OF THE HOME BEFORE YOU INVEST
WE REVEAL WHAT MAKES THE HOME DISTINCTIVE
from the street to the spaces within
Some homes don’t need to be reinvented. They need to be understood.
This 1920s house had charm, scale and unusual details, but its potential was hidden beneath dated finishes and unclear spatial choices. Our study explores how color, light, furniture, landscape and proportion can bring an older home back into focus without erasing its character. READ THE STUDY
WHY
ROUTE 66 DESIGN?
After years designing broadcast studios, brands and experiences viewed by millions, we found ourselves looking at something much closer to home.
The neighborhoods of New Mexico are filled with honest, well-built houses. Yet many have never been given the chance to show their full potential. A different color palette, better lighting, thoughtful landscaping or a reimagined entrance can completely change the way a home feels—often without changing its structure.
Route 66 Design was created from a simple belief:
Thoughtful design can make the everyday feel remarkable.
We help homeowners, buyers, realtors and contractors see the potential already present in a property before money is spent. Through thoughtful design and clear visualization, we make decisions easier, reduce costly mistakes and help everyday homes become places people remember.
ABOUT
THE TEAM
Route 66 Design applies design thinking to real-world problems—looking closely at how people use spaces, identifying what matters, and developing solutions that are imaginative, practical and grounded in everyday life.
Jofree Shimray brings nearly three decades of experience as a creative director, helping organizations translate their identity into screens, environments and experiences.
Bonita Vaz, former Art Director at HarperCollins Publishers India, brings an editorial eye shaped by books, publishing and visual storytelling. A trained yoga teacher with an interest in Ayurveda, she adds a conscious and considered perspective to the design process.
Dr. Philip Macneil, an MIT graduate and former emergency physician, brings calm judgment, analytical thinking and extensive experience solving complex problems in the real world.
Together, the team combines creative thinking, human understanding and practical decision-making to help people see more clearly what a home already offers—and what it could become. Based in Gallup, New Mexico—a city shaped by Historic Route 66 as it passes through its heart.
